Web Developer

Welcome to my Portfolio! My name is Neil Kreuer, student web designer at the Haute École de la Province de Liège.
I'm a fullstack web developer, more into front/back-end than design, speaking French, English and also fairly well German.
I'll also add here that I have my driving licence, just in case this could be interesting.

My background

In 2016, I joined St. Joseph's Institute in Welkenraedt, where I finished my secondary education until Covid 19 in 2020. The situation made me realize that I wanted to change, which prompted me to go and study computer graphics at the Royal Athenaeum of Welkenraedt. I came out with the CESS and a qualification in computer graphics techniques, and immediately deepened my studies in this field at the HEPL. That’s where I discovered the path I wanted to follow: Web Design.
Even if I'm not that much at ease with design creation itself, I'm pretty at ease with front-end developement, using HTML, CSS and JS. But I'm definitely even more at ease with a good php back-end, like making a custom Wordpress theme for a client (or myself right here), or building a Laravel-backed app. You can see these projects on my projects pages!
I'm actually at my last year of study there, and if everything goes as planned, I'll be graduating september 2026!

PHP, utimate back-end

I know most people tend to use JavaScript-based alternatives for websites now, but even if it seems slower, nothing beats a solid php-backed website or webapp for me.

Figma: auto layout, SVG & CSS

Figma is a tool I really like. I could use it's auto layout everyday, and the app disposes of so many functionnalities that I even do my SVGs on Figma. And the use of components, variables, and the modes allow to nearly entirely simulate a full web app.
I even use Figma to prepare my CSS, thanks to auto layout's flex-based dynamic.

Laravel/Livewire

My best experience about creating a webapp with php will always be the Laravel framework, maybe even Livewire V3. I didn't have time to try the LiveWire V4 yet, but this time will come eventually.

React

I started using React as a front-end alternative for my WebApps only end 2025, and except the part it is fully driven by JavaScript, it seems pretty good! Especially the smooth interactions and page switching. Probably the reason why it is noted as the most used framework nowadays. I still have a lot to learn about it.

Given that I still have some time left before I finish my studies, it's likely that you won't get an answer until the end of 2026.
